RACCOON: Procyon lotor
This masked bandit of the woods, which is a relative of the panda, lives throughout many parts of North America. It has a body length of 38-56 cm (15”-22”). A raccoon’s paws are very agile and contain a large number of nerve endings since touch is their most acute sense. They are often seen “washing” their food before eating and even when there is no water available, they rub it between their paws.
Raccoons are nocturnal animals and are often found along streams and marshes where they find many of their favorite foods: crawfish, frogs, turtles and the eggs of nesting birds. They are also fond of nuts, berries, fruit and farmers’ crops.

We are often asked how to sanitize stuffed animals.

It's easy to do. You'll need a container, mild soap or detergent, and a spot for your Canned Critter or Mini Canned Critter to air dry. Some folks like to use clothes pins and an outdoor drying line.

How to give your new Canned Critter friend a bath:

  1. Fill a little tub with cool water and mild detergent.
  2. Hand wash your Canned Critter until they are nice and clean.
  3. Rinse and air dry.
