Orcas are whales which inhabit every ocean on earth. While sometimes referred to as a “Killer Whales”, orcas rarely attack humans. In fact, most documented cases of attacks on humans have occurred in marine theme parks and not in the wild. Male orcas typically range from 20 to 26 ft. (6 to 8 meters) long and can weigh more than 6 tons. Females are smaller, and generally range from 16 to 23 ft. (5 to 7 meters) and weigh about 3 to 4 tons. The largest male orca on record was 32 ft. (9.8 meters), and weighed over 10 tons!
